Art rock mavericks The Neutrinos have been at the cutting edge of music making for over 20 years.
The Neutrinos sound like they would be pretty handy in a fight. Andrew Reilly Room Thirteen
“Throbbing art-punk noise and sexy urgent energy.” Time Out New York
“The band were John Peel Favourites, no need to say more. “ Pete Whalley Get Ready To Rock
Touring Europe & North America The Neutrinos perform masterful live shows, but became baffled by the conservative format in which we deliver gigs, when music can be so transformative, why just hem shows into predictable ways of, band on stage: audience down there?
The Neutrinos, along with long-term collaborator visual artist Sal Pittman, created KlangHaus, a show that puts the audience in the centre of the music. Many audience members have remarked at feeling like ‘being inside of music.’
The KlangHaus show deconstructs the way a rock gig works. The audience are in and around the band, you can sit next to the drummer and the guitarist will undoubtedly ask you to switch his pedals on or pass over a guitar.
KlangHaus became a smash hit at the Edinburgh Festival before going on to sell out over 100 performances at London’s Royal Festival Hall. The Times described them as ‘A blast of aural and visual magic’ in a 5 star review. In 2021 they took their revolutionary Darkroom installation, targeting climate change awareness to Glasgow’s COP26 UN Climate Conference, after trialling it at UEA’s Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research.
In 2023 the band took two shows to Edinburgh Fringe, KlangHaus: InHaus and Darkroom. The Neutrinos alongside their co-collaborator visual artist Sal Pittman, did 210 shows across 21 days and won accolades and 5 star reviews.
“Klanghaus are undeniably cool… their signature style…is at once intimate, immediate, and immersive. Klanghaus’s artistic approach is one of radical generosity“ ****The Scotsman
KlangHaus: internationally acclaimed, promenade, live music, cinematic, building led, daft, full on loud, pin-drop quiet, space to think, no story, being present experience.
The Neutrinos are also engaged in live shows, which blur the boundaries between music and live art and between performer and audience.
‘One show that truly delivers the shock of the new, the most innovative presentation of live music I’ve ever seen – a total game-changer’
Alex Needham, The Guardian – Review of KlangHaus
